disappointed i was disappointed.
pay 77 bucks to ride along a dirt road on someones property...
no real obstacles..
one mud hole....
spent more time waiting for people in front to be pulled out of where they were stuck, than actually negotiating anything.
too many drunk and stoned idiots getting in the middle of the mud hole and just sitting there (not actually stuck)
i was mislead by the pictures from 2007, actually showing mounds of dirt.
someone has raked in a lot of cash and are sitting back saying, "suckers"

Wow, tell them how you really feel. I am sure they planned this entire event to get your $77.00.
This was my first time at Jeep Beach. I missed the trail ride and the Sunday beach parade. I paid $89 to enter my son's jeep in the show and shine and get us in. I also paid $20 for some raffle tickets and bought several other items. I thought the food was good. I looked at a lot of great jeeps and got some ideas on things to do to ours. I met a lot of great people and my son's jeep won the "Used and Abused" category.
I really enjoyed myself and will do it again.

I'm sorry you didn't have a good time on the trail ride. Being private property, we are at the owners mercy and the Florida weather on how the trail ride will turn out. The trail ride primarily focuses on mild Jeeps being the majority and don't want to scare anyone off with rocks, logs or big hills. Every year the ride has been different at the same location and who knows, maybe next year the ride will be somewhere else with more challenging obstacles. We strive to please everyone that attends but are not always successful. Of all the Jeeps coming back from the trail ride, I saw nothing but muddy Jeeps and smiles :D

please allow me to clarify my previous comments..
i didn't COMPLETELY have a bad time.
the food was great.. met plenty of other jeepers and saw some great jeeps.
i am speaking only for myself, the trail ride wasn't what i was expecting.. probably because of the few people ahead of us in the convoy was openly drinking and smoking weed and being outright stupid/dangerous.. when i saw that behavior, i instantly knew there would be problems.
also because of the lack of things to do. maybe if we could have explored "off the beaten path" rather than follow each other on an impassable dirt road.
my wife was mostly entertained by the cows lounging in the field.
i will definitely be there next year.. but not the trail ride

Sorry you did not enjoy the trail ride part of this event. To keep things as safe & sane as possible we had club members on most of the 7 or 8 groups that went out around property on Saturday. So it quite literally must have been “dumb” luck they were not discovered and removed by the staff or the sheriff deputy we had rolling around the park in the blue Ford w/covered winch that day.
Beyond adding additional obstacles (something I would like to see as well) we plan to establish a better course the goes beyond the sprinkling of mud pits and dusty trails but that also changes substantially with the amount of rain we have before each years event.
Everyone should always feel free to point out unsafe behavior on any trail ride. It only takes one irresponsible person to mess things up for everyone else. I’m glad no one was injured during this event an only wish I or my fellow club members had been there to help resolve the situation.
Thanks for your feedback we will definitely be taking these comments under consideration as we start planning next years Jeep Beach

I had a ball, I have attended the event (2) consecutive years, this is the first that my wife has attended the entire event with me. We are already talking to people at work and the couples that went with us this year about returning next year....

Fom another Jeeper Forum:
I think that the members of Mid Florida Jeep Club did an outstanding job, as usual, of planning and hosting this event. Vendors are getting harder and harder to get to show up. Tina's is a faithful one, and they are fellow Jeepers, not to mention great people. I had vendors promise to be there and didn't show and then I had some tell me that they were happy to donate a raffle prize, but it wasn't worth the cost for them to go to our shows anymore. And, with the price of gas, it's hard for everyone to cover their costs. Most of the vendors told me that they just don't sell enough merchandise to make it worth their time. But, those are the parts and accessory vendors who can't have one of each on the truck, you know?
We had a great time again. This is the most relaxing weekend and we will definitely be there again next year. This year, I even let Kent take his Jeep and I was the passenger. We always bring my Jeep, so I owed him one.
Thanks for all of the hard work in planning the event. See you at Jeep Beach 2009!
Take care,
Charlene Myers, Secretary
