Poker run?
I'm not sure if everyone knows it, but each year the Volusia County Sheriff's Office hosts a battle of the badges to raise money for the Sheriff's Youth Ranch. The event used to be a bus race and demo derby, but after the tragic crash a couple of years ago, the format had to undergo a drastic facelift. Last year it went to a fishing tournament in New Smyrna Beach and to say it was a hit would be a huge understatement! There were things going on all day long that appealed to everyone, not just fisherman. Last year a local Mustang club hosted a car show along Riverside Drive and it got me to thinking....Jeeps? Why not Jeeps? But, why a show...why not more? My question is this...what is the interest, much less the feasibilty of doing a Poker run in September? I've never coordinated one, so I'm lost on that level. I'm not sure if that's not enough time to do it or if it should be shelved until next year's event. Oh, I'm also not a member...YET...but I thought I would appeal to this board since it's local. Please hit me with questions and information!
