I only wish that I could talk my mom into riding in my Jeep. Good for Grandma!
That's funny...I needed that one.
Anyway, I do have some news for you all.
Our show is coming up on March 1st and I have great news for you guys. I just came from a committee meeting and we have decided not to charge a registration fee for the show. Since this is our first show, we would really like to have good participation. We also donate 100% of the proceeds from the show to local charities throughout the year. So, in the interest of giving participants more money to spend on raffles, and the fact that we realize that gas is expensive, we decided to waive the registration fee. If you all can pass the word, that would be great. I'm trying to get a post on all of the forums so everyone knows.
We have some really great raffle prizes including two winches, a gift certificate for a complete set of Bushwacker fender flares, and a set of GEAR seat covers. There are a lot of other prizes too, including gift certificates for restaurants and more Jeep stuff. We will also hold a 50/50 drawing. The categories for judging will include stock, modified, extreme, most abused and best club participation. Bring the kids. There will be an area set up just for them with a bounce house (possibly two), coloring activities and Jeep puzzles to work. We will have the RTI ramp too. And, of course, there will be food served.
This year, we were given time constraints by the dealership that is helping to sponsor our event. General raffle prizes will be drawn beginning at 10:00 am, with winning numbers posted to a board. We will be starting the show at 8:00am and awarding trophies and large raffle prizes at 12:30. We were planning to have a 101 course, but unfortunately the charity that promised us the use of property that they own to build it, backed out after we had donated many, many hours to their cause. It was a disappointment that came too late to make other arrangements. Maybe next year...
I have been working on a new site for the club at
www.treasurecoastjeepclub.org. I just haven't had time to finish it yet. But, if you visit the site, there is a page for the show and at the bottom I have links for directions, etc. Just ignore the fact that I'm not finished with the forum and I haven't posted a gallery or calendar yet. The email addresses will work though. If you guys have any more questions, please email me either through the site at
cmyers@treasurecoastjeepclub.org or at
Fred06JeepTJ@comcast.net and I'll do my best to help you.
If we don't see you guys at the show, we do understand that not everyone is able to come. But, you all are a great group and we always have fun with you guys at Jeep Beach. Speaking of which, I did put the information on the calendar and forum on our site. I have also added it to the new site and I will be bringing it up at the March meeting and going over the details once our show is done. I have already registered and made hotel reservations and I know that we have others making reservations that will be registering soon. So, if we don't see you at the show, we'll get together in May.
Take care and thanks,
Charlene Myers, Secretary
Treasure Coast Jeep Club
